Robert Chavez @ NBC's KNTV-11 did! The 2002 Olympics were less than a week away when LFA got the call for seven color T-shirts (front & back) and embroidered ball caps. The station was hosting an Opening Ceremonies bash on Pier 3 at San Francisco's Embarcadero. To make matters worse, the Super Bowl had just concluded the day before and most embroidery plants were jammed with New England Patriots apparel. LFA found a way…the
caps were air-freighted in from Seattle on Monday to two embroidery
vendors, one in Southern California and one in the East Bay. The shirts
were divided among local screen shops and monitored for color consistency.
Thursday night found the LFA staff routing the shipping so the trucks
could make one sweeping run on their way up to the City Friday morning.
As the marketing director was frantically calling for assurance that
the delivery would be made, the items were being wheeled up the gangway
two and a half hours prior to the 2 PM start. Another gold-silver-bronze
sweep for LFA. |
